The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education is well known for its acclaimed modern and comprehsive adaption of Orton-Gillingham methodology for use in the general classroom. General class room teachers love our program because it gives them the necessary tools to work with the bottom third of their class. These are the kids who are having difficulty learning to read and are falling behind and may never catch up. In addition we offer staff development programs in Orton-Gillingham methodology for special education teachers, reading tutors, and paraprofessionals. We can also work with school districts in literacy curriculum development. We are offering an Orton-Gillingham product for parents. This is a highly structured, multi-sensory, and phonics based program called "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers." We have found many concerned parents who appreciate this stat-of-the-art, tutorial phonics based program which is easy to work with and their children quickly benifit with their improved reading abilities. School districts use Title I funds for the IMSE's staff development programs in Orton-Gillingham methodology. The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education supports early intervention. The Institute feels that it is important to decrease the number of students who are falling behind with their literacy skills in K thru 2nd grades. The Institute wants all elementary students at grade level when they enter the third grade. We custom design our programs for the special needs of each school and school district. IMSE's modern and comprehensive Orton-Gillingham methodology is an ideal answer for remediation of at risk students. It is well suited for giving assistance to children who are below grade level or who have learning disabilities, dyslexia,or other problems preventing their reading development.
